Position: Director/Coordinator of Company Activities

The scientific society Micro&Nano (Micro & Nano Scientific Society | Nanotechnology | Microsystems) is seeking to hire a Director/Coordinator of the society’s activities, including those related to the Hellenic Chips Competence Center (HCCC).

Duties – Responsibilities

The Director/Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Board of Directors and will be responsible for:

  • Organizing, promoting, and communicating the society’s events, such as its annual international conference.
  • Organizing and promoting scientific and training seminars.
  • Organizing networking events involving startups in the sector and investors.
  • Communicating the society’s activities with innovation offices, academic staff/researchers, and students from partner universities and research centers.
  • Representing the society in national and international media.
  • Mapping and monitoring the fields of Nanoelectronics, Quantum Technology, Microtechnology, Nanotechnology, Microsystems, and Photonic Devices in Greece and internationally, in collaboration with corresponding international societies.
  • Submitting proposals for funding of design and networking actions.
  • Monitoring funded programs (e.g., HCCC) and preparing related reports.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A degree in science or engineering, and a postgraduate degree preferably with specialization in microtechnology, microelectronics, photonics, or microsystems.
  • Previous professional or research experience in the scientific field of the society.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate scientific or technological projects, communication actions, or technology networking.
  • Desired qualifications: A postgraduate degree in economics or communication, or a PhD in the thematic areas of the society.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Fulfilled military obligations (for male candidates).

Type of Collaboration & Location

  • Full-time position based in Athens, with the possibility of remote work depending on project needs.
  • Employment will be under a project-based or fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal.
  • Initial contract duration is 6 months, with the potential for extension up to the end of the project (four years).
